As a member of this Society, one of your privileges is to vote on important actions of the Society. It is time to vote on the incoming board.

The following is the Proposed Slate of Officers recommended by the Nominating Committee. The term of the Board is from May 1 - April 30.

The Process

• Interest to serve on the Board solicited.
  
• Conversations held with interested members.
  
• Based on interest, discussions, and experience, the Nominating Committee (which consisted of the past-president, 3 other current Board Members and 2 Members at large) developed a proposed Slate of Officers.
  
• The Proposed Slate of Officers was reviewed by the current Board.
  
• The Members vote on the Slate. When a member votes "no" it is requested the member provide more information/detail as to any specific recommended changes, including names of any member she believes should be on the board as well as supporting reasons why she believes the member is suitable/qualified for a particular role. [We are at this step now]
  
• If the Slate is approved by a majority vote of the voting members then the Slate of Officers is approved. (e.g., if 100 people vote, then 51 need to vote yes to approve the Slate).
  
• If the Proposed Slate is not approved, the Nominating Committee will review the input by the members from the voting and modify the Slate.
  
• The process will continue until a Slate is approved.
  

A number of members expressed interest in being on the Board. The Nominating Committee went through considerable effort - evaluating the needs of the Society and putting the right people in the right roles - coming up with a Board that will best serve the Society for the upcoming term.
